Name: Louise
Breed: Guinea pig (cavia porcellus), mixture between long and short hair
Color: Agouti (silver)
Eyes: Dark red
Gender: Female
Age: January 2000 - December 19, 2006
Favorite food: Cucumber, blueberries, hay
Character: Friendly, a little affectionate Likes: Running
Dislikes: Pedicure
I got Louise together with Thelma, in February 2000. Unlike Thelma, Louise used to be
rather shy. She preferred to hide, and came only out of her corner when she felt very
secure. This made her Celine's buddy. It took nearly three years to change this. Now,
Louise is more outgoing and actually comes out even when people are around. I can
find her taking a nap in the middle of the cage. That would have never happen in her
earlier days.
Louise is very cute with her two long curls behind her ears and her hair which is not really long and not really short, just something in between. It used to look a little bit like moths nibbled on her hair :). Now her hair is more evenly long or short (depending from which angle you look at it).
She is also the smallest of the five pigs. When she was young she ate and ate, but never gained a lot of weight. This changed somewhat when she became two years old. She still is rather slim though.
Sad update: Louise left us on December 19, 2005. Altough her health wasn't the best anymore, it happend rather surprisingly. I noticed something was very wrong with her in the morning and went to the vet. It turned out she had a uterus prolaps. Because of her age and health, nothing could be done. Farewell my beautiful Louise...
